"The Real You" was
shot in one night and edited in about a week. The entire production,
from revision of an existing script to final cut, took three weeks.
Acquisition was with a
JVC GY-DV500 and Fuji 20x6.4RM lens. The location had an excellent
array of built-in track lighting that was used to great advantage for
this 800ASA rated camera. Almost all of the lighting in the interior
came from this built-in "grid” as existing fixtures were refocused to
create pools of light at key focal spots for the film.
Even at four in the
morning, the interior location was somewhat hostile to sound with the
compressors for the cold cases cycling on and off. As such, we replaced
every piece of production audio with ADR, voice-overs, Foley, wild
sound, and music-for-picture. There is not a single original production
cue in the final mix.
The film was posted
entirely on a PC with an AT4040 studio mic, dbx 286A vocal processor,
and MidiMan Delta 1010 for audio acquisition. Editing, grading, ADR,
and mix down were performed in Vegas 4.0
